Project Description

Breathing new life into existing homes is one of Hinge’s specialties. This Mid-Century Modern home in Seattle, came with a lot of existing charm but needed some updates. The kitchen is the heart of the home and was central to this remodel. By replacing appliances and modifying cabinets, cabinet hardware, countertops and adding a back splash of tile for a pop of color we were able to modernize and warm up the kitchen and create a perfect place for entertaining. In the master we reworked the existing layout to give the client a bathroom of their dreams while maintaining plenty of space for a walk-in closet and cozy water closet. With a career in the wine industry, our client needed a space in his house to highlight his collection. We converted a small bedroom downstairs to be a custom wine cellar equipped with it’s own secret door for a unique experience when sharing with their guests. The entry stair to this home was dated and worn. Hinge replaced the treads and painted the existing stringers black to give them an inexpensive makeover. Other seemingly small details such as replacing doors and door hardware, carpet, and adding color and fun with paint and wall paper, took a home that had excellent bones but felt a bit dated and created an appropriately fun, dynamic home for this young family.
