Project Description
Project Details

The aesthetic of this cozy restaurant was inspired by the beachy artist communities of southern Mexico. Hinge collaborated with Heavy Restaurant Group and layered, steel, wire glass, tile and hand dyed wall art to create a vibrant fun hang out. The restaurant is located on a prominent corner of the Tableau Headquarters building a block away from the popular Gasworks park. A bottle lined steel and wood shelf extends floor to ceiling along the street front window wall – creating a glowing lantern drawing passersby into the space. The long narrow geometry of the space offered a challenging but fun puzzle for restaurant design. Through careful study of flow, equipment and detailed planning Hinge developed a plan that created a highly efficient but functional kitchen, a dynamic bar and intimate dining setting. A flexible, covered, outdoor seating area allows this restaurant to double its dining capacity in the warmer months.
